Nominations for Positions on the Board must be submitted on the Nomination Form enclosed and must be received by 5pm 30 October 2015. A tour of our facilities will take place after the meeting. Tea and Coffee will be served prior to the meeting

Glenreagh Mountain Railway is not currently operating steam locomotive operations as our accreditation expired in January 2008.

Since then the Rail Safety Act (2008) has come into force and we were required to re-apply in accordance with this new act. We received our official Notice of Accreditation as a Rail Infrastructure Manager from the Independent Transport Safety Regulator on 11 October 2011. That allows us to carry out preservation and restoration of our railway infrastructure including the line and associated buildings.

On 7 July 2014, Glenreagh Mountain Railway (GMR) was granted a variation to its accreditation by the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator to allow it to carry out rolling stock operations.

At the moment, it is not possible to give a reliable estimate of when we will be operating heritage steam locomotive hauled passenger train rides again but in the mean time, all sorts of necessary work is going on at betweem Glenreagh and Lowanna to restore and preserve our railway branch line track and buildings. This work is driven by a dedicated team of young and old volunteers.

Through this web site we are endeavouring to keep members and the general public up to date with our latest activities.

So don't forget to come back and visit us regularly to see all the exciting things happening at Glenreagh and check out the updates on our News Page.
